I am the school counselor at F.P. Caillet Elementary.  I work with every student individually, in small groups, and/or in their classroom.

For small group, I send home a permission form that lets parents know what the topic is, what will be covered, and the goals of the group. 

For classroom-based counseling, teachers sign-up for units based on what he/she thinks the students need most.  Some topics include: self-esteem, making and keeping friends, positive school behaviors, and bullying.  Social emotional learning (SEL) includes: Self-Management, Self-Awareness, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills and Responsible Decision making.

To receive individual counseling, a student is referred by their parent, teacher, or principal.  Student can also request to see me.  In my office, students can feel free to talk about what worries them and to ask questions.

I am here as a resource for your child through the school year.  My goal is to help your child be successful both academically and socially through scheduled one-on-one counseling opportunities.
